WHAT IS CBD?

  • HOW IS CBD DIFFERENT FROM MARIJUANA?
CBD stands for cannabidiol. It is the second most prevalent of the active ingredients of cannabis (marijuana). While CBD is an essential component of medical marijuana, it is derived directly from the hemp plant, which is a cousin of the marijuana plant. While CBD is a component of marijuana (one of hundreds), by itself it does not cause a “high.” According to a report from the World Health Organization, “In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential…. To date, there is no evidence of public health related problems associated with the use of pure CBD. The above is an exerpt from 2019 Harvard Medical School Health Blog
  • DOES CBD GET YOU HIGH?
CBD and THC are two types of cannabinoids found in cannabis. They both have an impact on cannabinoid type 1 (CB1) receptors in the brain. However, the type of impact tells you a lot about why they produce such different results. THC activates these receptors. This causes a euphoria or the high associated with marijuana. CBD, on the other hand, is a CB1 antagonist. It blocks any intoxicating impact caused by the CB1 receptors. Taking CBD with THC may inhibit the effects of THC. In other words, CBD will NOT get you high. In fact CBD may block the high effects. The above information is from www.healthline.com
  • IS CBD LEGAL?
Under Wisconsin state law, Ripley Green may only sell “full-spectrum” hemp products that contain tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content of 0.3 percent or less. THC is a psychoactive substance that is present in hemp but at a far lower — and legal — concentration than in hemp’s cousin, marijuana, which is illegal to possess in Wisconsin. Products from Ripley Green offer all the medical benefits of marijuana, without any of the THC downfalls of addiction and being “stoned”.
  • HOW DO I KNOW IF IT'S HIGH QUALITY CBD?
To get the most potent and high-quality product, try and remember these points: 1)Check for the products’ lab reports: If you’re buying CBD online, expect to find the products’ CoAs to be posted on their website. A CoA or the Certificate of Analysis is the third-party lab report that stands proof of the product’s genuineness, potency, purity, and safety. If you don’t find them on the brand site, call or drop the company an email, requesting for the CoA of the product of your selection. CBD oil tinctures are available in different concentrations. Most brands sell a varied range of tinctures having different strengths, spectrums, and flavors. If you don’t get a positive response from them, then you may want to stay away from that brand. If you do get a response, find out if the laboratory that conducted the tests is an accredited one (as per International Organization for Standardization-ISO) and that the tests were done recently, and not 2 – 3 years ago. In the report, look for: • organic and inorganic contaminants • ingredients, including natural (whether organically grown or not) or artificial flavorings and carrier oils •cannabinoid concentration and profile; make sure it matches with the label THC level the above is an exerpt from
  • IS IT LEGAL TO BUY CBD ONLINE?
Yes, you can legally buy CBD online across the US as long as it is derived from industrial hemp (containing THC below 0.3% by weight). Products made by brands that comply with the 2014 Farm Bill (and its 2018 update) are safe to consume. That is to say, only if the CBD is derived from industrial hemp. Besides, the Bill had made hemp cultivation legal across the country. Hence, people in the US now have access to CBD sourced from hemp grown in regulated local farms in this country. So, for instance, if you’re located in Washington DC, you don’t have to worry about receiving a package of CBD oil or flower from, say, Wiscoinsin.
  • WHAT IS CBD FLOWER?

  • HOW MUCH CBD IS IN A DROP OF OIL?
CBD oil is sold as an entire dosing amount/bottle. So dosing CBD relies heavily on knowing how the concentration of CBD in your bottle. Ripley Green sells CBD oil in 500mg and 1000mg, both of which come in the same size (30ml) bottle. So the 1000 has twice the concentration of CBD per drop as the 500, but both come in the same size 30 ml glass bottle. Here is the equation you need to follow: [Total CBD strength] ÷ [Amount of ml in bottle] = Total mg of CBD in the dropper so... 1000mg total CDB ÷ 30ml bottle size = 33 mg of CBD in one dropper 500 mg total CBD ÷ 30ml bottle size = 16 mg of CBD in one dose (dropper)
